The structures behind the thinking

Sinnio's work is built on a small set of frameworks, refined through practice across sectors. They are not applied off the shelf - each is adapted to the organisation, the audience and the evidence. But the discipline they bring is constant.

The Sinnio Strategic Framework

Our work follows one integrated methodology. It doesn't replace established frameworks. It brings them together.

Rather than treating strategy, communications, behaviour, insight and evaluation as separate workstreams, the Sinnio Strategic Framework connects them into a single evidence-led process. The result is clearer decisions, stronger alignment and measurable organisational impact.

Rather than starting with communications activity, the framework begins with organisational purpose and works systematically towards measurable outcomes. Each stage informs the next, creating a clear line of sight between organisational ambition, customer understanding, strategic decision-making, behaviour change and continuous improvement.

It provides a consistent methodology that can be applied across strategy development, organisational transformation, stakeholder engagement, place marketing and communications planning.

The Sinnio Strategic Framework

An eight-step line of sight from vision to continuous improvement: vision, insight, objectives, strategy, communications, behaviour, evaluation, learning. It keeps every activity accountable to an outcome, and every outcome accountable to evidence.

Used for Any engagement, from place marketing to culture change - it is the spine of our work.

Think–Feel–Do

Before any activity begins: what should the audience think, feel and do differently? Completed for every audience segment, it turns vague intentions into testable objectives - and doubles as the evaluation plan.

Used for Campaign planning, internal communications, engagement programmes and approval gates.

Behaviour Change Levers

People act when capability, opportunity and motivation align. This framework diagnoses which is missing, then selects the right levers - framing, social proof, prompts, reducing effort - applied ethically and tested honestly.

Used for Behaviour change campaigns, service demand management and adoption of change.

Customer Journey Mapping

The experience as the customer lives it: every step, touchpoint, emotion and moment of friction from first awareness to lasting habit. Journeys reveal where strategy meets reality - and where it quietly fails.

Used for Service design, place marketing, member experience and insight programmes.

Campaign Planning Cycle

A structured cycle - objectives, audience, strategy, implementation, scoring - aligned with recognised public sector planning models. It ensures campaigns are designed to be evaluated, not evaluated as an afterthought.

Used for Marketing and communications campaigns across paid, owned and earned channels.

Evidence-led Evaluation

Outputs tell you what was produced; outcomes tell you what changed. Our evaluation approach, aligned with Government Communication Service principles, measures both - and expresses results in terms leadership teams can act on, including return on investment.

Used for Campaign evaluation, performance frameworks and learning reviews.
